Defined standards

The uniform mechanical-pneumatic interface between positioner and actuator is defined per standard. When mounted according to VDI/VDE 3847 the advantages of a compact and rugged assembly with no piping are combined with the possibility to connect devices of various manufacturers.

Fundamental characteristics of the guideline are as follows:

• Mounting of positioner with two screws on the front
• Integral pressure gauge mounting on actuator
• Elimination of piping between positioner and actuator
• Integrated interface for solenoid valve on actuator

Extension of the standard for OPOS Interface:
In addition to the characteristics defined in the guideline OPOS Interface offers the possibility to interlock pressure in the actuator, allowing replacement of the positioner during operation. Moreover the integral pressure gauge is mounted on the actuator (not on the positioner which is the case up to now).
